Most retail spaces are looking to provide background music at a low volume with universal coverage. OWI has solved this by designing speakers that can cover large areas with intelligible audio. Since it is higher frequencies that are not dispersed as readily, OWI has put tweeters in a north/south/east/west configuration resulting in speakers that can cover 3000 sq ft from a height of 15ft. The Saturn and Neptune have a 5" woofer and 4 tweeters, the Mercury 6750 utilizes a 6" woofer and the Mercury 8764 an 8" driver to provide more bass and power with each model upgrade. OWI also has a 10" subwoofer for those stores that want more bass. Many standard retail spaces are often covered with one single speaker or two with large warehouse stores using much fewer than competitive designs resulting in cost savings o equipment and labor.
